With the Fargo Blizzard the last couple of days, homebound is the word of the week. I am beginning to get a bit stir-crazy but it was a lot of fun to be with our own little family on this last day of the year. We spent the day in the snow building & freezing ;), eating & eating & eating, watching movies and having Dad blow up hundreds of balloons for our popping pleasure.
It has become a tradition to "POP" in the New Year at the Seamons' home. Brett really outdid himself this year! They covered the entire front room floor. Glory loved running through them. Justice and Victoria thought they were the best. Liberty kept getting frustrated because as they ran through them and played with them, some were popping. She wanted everyone to stay away from them until it was time. Silly girl! We finally couldn't make it past 8 o'clock before we did a countdown, armed the kids with pens and let the popping begin!!! (We're obviously flexible to the midnight curfew LOL!- All that really matters is that you celebrate, right?) It is always really, really loud! Glory covered her ears a couple of times and wanted help popping but we all had a blast! I really wanted to catch a pic of a "mid-pop" but I SO need a new camera thus you only get before and after shots. Dang! The other kids were so fast at popping- it seemed like they were done before we started. Good times!
Liberty is BEYOND creative! During one of the movies, she disappeared downstairs for a bit. Then after the show, she informed us that she had made a game for us to play. She had drawn, colored, cut out, taped to string and hung up several mistletoe in various rooms around the house. We went on a Mistletoe Hunt for them. When we found them- we stood under them and smooched! Too cute! Love it!
For a treat during our New Years blizzard, we had snowcones! I know- we're crazy. It's like 6 degrees out there and we're eating COLD treats! LOL! We conviently had 6 inches or so of freshly fallen, fluffy white snow piled up against or back sliding door. We simply opened up the door a bit & using a big bowl scooped up a bunch for real SNOWcones! They were the BEST!! Almost everybody had at least 4 or 5 of them! Yumm!
We finally put the little girls to bed around 10:30 or so- they had done their fair share of celebrating and we had a couple of tired girlies on our hands! The older two stayed up with us though. We played Wipeout on the Wii and watched the ball drop at Times Square! What better way to end 2010 than with those you love!?
What an awesome year we had!
Happy New Year Everybody!
