When the Boys are Away... the Girls Will Play

While the boys were off huntin' today, the girls found ways to play. After a little cleanup of 2 boxes of cereal neatly thrown over the entire front room floor-- HOW???? Don't ask.--- Liberty and I mowed the lawn in the "melting heat"! Then, we all enjoyed a little water fun! It was SOOOO hot that it was a perfect day for it. We had popsicles, blew bubbles, turned on the hose to the cool mist setting (that's so awesome on a day like this), slid on the slide into the big pool and enjoyed relaxing in the hammock.
In the evening, Haylie joined us for an often overlooked Fargo adventure. We first stopped and picked up pizza to eat at the park. Then, we made a little stop on the way. I've heard Allison talk about it tons of times but never have made it to the Fargo Walk of Fame. [Founded in 1989 by Fargo Printer, Mike Stevens, the Walk of Fame, was originally located on the city sidewalks of Mike's print shop, Express Press, in downtown Fargo. It was moved to the current site during the Summer of 2000. The first inductee into the Walk was jazz trumpeter, Al Hirt. Since then, movie stars, musicians, authors, athletes, religious leaders and celebrities from all walks of life have joined the Walk of Fame. Mike privately funded all expenses for the first 95 celebrities, and felt it a small way he could repay a community that's been so kind to him.] Well, today is THE day! :) We didn't even know who half of them were but we could tell we're a little bit country up here in these parts because there were tons of country music people. (At least that's who Haylie & I recognized the most- so maybe we're a little bit country!) We all, of course, had to touch the hands or feet of some of those we knew. These included--Haylie: Toby Keith, Shay: Garth Brookes, Liberty: Ernie, Victoria: Bert, and Glory: Barney!!!! We also saw all of the Monkees and Marie Osmond. It was fun to do something different while the boys were off playing. Thanks for joining us Haylie!
We did make it to the park for dinner and a little playing on the playground at Rabanus Park. It really was a melting heat that hit us today so it didn't last long! We all left with pretty red, flushed faces. ;)
Although, I have to keep reminding myself that this is the kind of Summer I was dying for last year. One that when the Winter comes- you scream- Thank goodness that Summer's over. LOL! So here's to my wish being granted! Thanks Mother Nature!!!
Thanks girlies for the spending the day with me!
