Utah Vacation: Amber Alert

So.. ever heard of an "Amber Alert"? (America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response- We didn't issue one but the thought DID cross my mind) A scary thought, right? Well, let me explain....
Oh, what a start to our vacation!!!!  We can laugh at it now but at the time---- not so funny!
THE STORY
Monday evening, we arrived in Layton, Utah in time for a late dinner with Brett's sister and her family. We were enjoying the fabulous weather by eating and visiting out on their awesome back deck. The older kids automatically fell in perfect sync with their cousins so before we were even done eating dinner they were off to play. Little Glory was 3 weeks old last time she saw most of our family so she was sticking a little closer. After we ate though, she got some bravery and heading down the stairs to play on the little slide under the deck. The adults just continued to laugh and joke as we always do when we get together. I'm not sure how much time passed before I stopped the conversation abruptly to inquire to the whereabouts of our 2 year old blondie. (Possibly 15 minutes, maybe?) We called her name and when she didn't anwer, we all got up and to go look for her. She was NOT in the backyard or the front yard or the basement with the other kids or the garage or the car with her blankie or anywhere in the house or the next door neighbors pool or the street- NOWHERE!!! PANIC began to spread. Where could she be?  I ran west towards the highway while Cheri grabbed her neighbors and 5 or so people took off on bikes in opposite directions. I took a little breath and said a silent prayer. Please help us to get her back safely! I tried hard to not let my mind wander to places I didn't want to imagine. It was getting pretty dark at this point and all you could hear were voices in the darkness yelling, "Glory!" How much time was passing??? It seemed more like a bad movie than real life. When I couldn't see her on the highway, I ran back towards the house where Brett was calling 911. Since, he called from a ND phone- they attempted to transfer him but hung up on him. AAAGH! He ran and got a phone book and called the Layton Police Department. He began telling them that our daughter was missing when the officer said- "A little blonde girl with a green Dora shirt?" Oh my gosh!!! "Do you have her?" Hallelujah! They had just recieved a phone call from some neighbors up the street (WAY up the street- like 10 houses up a very steep hill) Brett got the address and hoped in the car. It looks like little Glory had made it to the front yard, saw a dog and walked up the street. A lady found her and when she picked her up, Glory starting to get a little sad, pointed up the street in the opposite direction of her family. The lady walked that way until she found some other neighbors in their front yard. They just happened to be Members of the Davis' ward. They were all still standing around holding our baby when Cheri found them. (just about the time that Brett pulled up) Glory was a little shooken up but in pretty good spirits when they brought her back to me. Definitely a blankie & Mommy moment. It had been a very, very  long day!
Thank heaven for little miracles! We are so grateful we found her safe!
We still did the evil eye from the cop when he showed up to write down all our info but he couldn't ruin our mood- we were just so glad to have her back! What an answer to our prayers!
