I forgot my camera at the Church for playgroup today. Luckily, Justice had Scouts and picked it up for me. He DID however leave me a good idea of the perspective that Cub Scouts have on their activities. LOL! Silly boys!

FHE @ Buffalo River
Tonight, we got together a FHE with some of our Ward family out at Buffalo River State Park. The forecast looked a bit questionable and the morning was rainy but we couldn't have asked for a better August night. It felt like it was in the 80s and there was just enough of a breeze to keep the bugs away. (Att least until we were loading the cars. I think Glory got 20 in the about 5 minutes!)
The kids and I love going out with all the ladies and the kids during the Summer but there's always something special in having the Dads come out to play. The kids and the Dads had a blast playing and swimming in the lake while the Moms and the babies visited. Ellen was even in town for the week on her school break and joined us! Yeah!

Congrats to 2011 Grads
We have had the opportunity to celebrate with lots of Graduates this week! Congratulations to Rachel, Peter, Mariah, Adam, Jack and Ellen! Good Luck with all your adult-adventures!
Also, KBro finally conceded to let us help with Ellen's Partay! I got brave and decorated some pretty fancy cupcakes for the occasion. (I enjoyed it so much I might have to sign up for a cake decoarting class or something;) The weather was a bit ND windy but the rain stayed away. Yeah! Everyone had a great time and she had SO many people come to support her and wish her well. We'll miss you, dear Ella! Stay away from the RMs at least for one semester, OK? LOL!
Ironroad Breakfast
The Ironroads continued their General Conference Breakfast Tradition today. Amazing food as always. Thanks guys! A few of the Brothersons didn't come (we missed you!) but it was still a full house. Haylie & I joked that this was the least chaotic that this tradition has ever been. LOL I think it was because Matt brought out an extra table and everyone had a chair to sit in. Glory sat by Matt and even shared her food with him. He is a very lucky man! ;) Did I mention the food as amazing? We had bagels with cream cheese, the yummiest white bread ever, English muffins, all kinds of other muffins- chocolate chip, lemon poppyseed, blueberry, apple cinnamon & chocolate, eggs with bacon, sausage, bananas, hashbrowns, and 4 or 5 different juices. YUM! I ate enough that I don't think I ate anything else the rest of the day. ;)
We got watched a few speakers from the morning session of General Conference before we had to take off for other things. We even worked it out that we didn't have to do the ASL this time. LOL. I always love that we can hear a living Prophet speak to us. We are very blessed.
Instead of Conference Bingo this time, I found a little fabulous General Conference Journal for the kids to do. It kept them busy and semi-quiet. Fabulous! Of course they also had the Ironroad toy box in the hallways and each other. What great kids!

CANDLELIGHT Valentine Couple Partay!
This is our 2nd annual Couple Valentine's Partay! What a LOVEly, CANDLELIGHT evening! Let me tell you the tale....
Candlelight took on a whole new meaning for us this year. It just so happens that 16,000 people in Fargo and West Fargo were without power today due to a city-wide sporadic power outage of Xcel Energy. The lights flickered and went out about 1:40 pm this afternoon while we were cleaning & decorating our home for the Partay. We decided to plug in our generator and finish getting ready. After all, the recording at the power company said they'd have it back on by 5:45 pm. Well, the Partay was scheduled for 5:30 so with a bit of flexibility- it would work out perfect. Turns out that the power company LIED! L.O.L. We finally got power back at 2:30 AM. That's right- we were without power for 13 hours including the time during the ENTIRE party! Crazy, I know! But thanks to our emergency preparedness obsession, some white Christmas lights and a few candles-- the Partay turned out perfect! Some fabulous friends willing to go with the flow made it a night to remember. [Not pictured: Manuel & Christie Matos- issues with power made it so they couldn't be here for picture time. Bummer! Maybe next time!]
Starting on time wasn't quite a priority this evening as we juggled those without power AND making dinner on the side of the BBQ instead of the kitchen BUT it didn't matter much. The Wests brought a yummy citrus drink to have while we visited. As soon as everyone was there, the kids were settled and the food was ready, we headed down to our Candlelight Valentine Restaurant. Isn't it LOVEly?
The men-folk were in charge of the dinner. Was it ever yummy! They decided on a Cafe Rio night menu. It's a Mexican Grill out west that we LOVE! They did a fabulous job. Totally authentic Cafe Rio dinner with the silver trays, sweet pulled pork, black beans & cilantro lime rice, pico de gallo with corn and beans, sour cream, cheese, limes, chips and even the Tomatillo Lime dressing. Delicioso! Muy buen! The girls were in charge of drinks so, Christie brought the most darling wine glasses all decked out Valentine-y. They were perfect! Thanks lady! Then, Jenny brought a bit of Mormon bubbly. So romantic! Dinner was awesome!
After stuffing ourselves with the fabulous food, we took the candles upstairs for CANDLELIGHT Couple Games. Absolutely a hoot! LOL (Way too much fun to include here so you'll have to stay tuned for the next few posts. HERE, HERE, and HERE)
But when all was said and done, we ended the romantic night with some delicious desserts provided by some of our lovely lady friends. Wow! Do these ladies know how to spoil us!? KTuck brought strawberry shortcake with real whip cream (that has love written all over it ;) and a cheesecake type dessert. Haylie made mini eclairs with her "to-die-for" frosting. She even made all the ladies a little "Pie in a Jar" to take home. They are the cutest things I've ever seen! All of it was AMAZING!
What a terrific way to start out our Valentine Weekend! Let's do it again next year! Thanks to the Brothersons, Tuckers, Ironroads, Larsens, Wests and 1/2 of the Matos (LOL) for joining us in our little Valentine tradition. Luv you guys!

Fiesta de Brothersons
La mamá y papá de Sean están en la ciudad. Así, tuvimos una FIESTA divertida en la casa de los Brothersons esta noche. Comimos enchiladas deliciosas y burritos yummmy de Matt. Toda la comida fue excelente! Siempre es divertido estar con ellos! ¡Viva la Fiesta! Incluso he intentado mi suerte en algunos postres Fiesta. Hice dos tipos de arroz con leche y algunas delicioso flan. Decían que fue el flan mejor que alguna vez ha tenido! Incluso hice sopaipillas caseras (tortillas al horno canela). Ellos fueron un éxito grande con los niños y adultos. Delicioso!
We also did a little dancing on the Wii- Just Dance 2. It was lots of fun and hilarious! Almost everyone participated. We even got Matt to do a dance with Brett. Viva las Vegas, baby! Lots of good moves and awesome people!

Christmas Couch
AKA Brotherson's Christmas Eve Partay
For several years now, we have joined the Brotherson family in a Christmas Eve Celebration. This year, everyone brought either a soup or some pie. It was all sooooo good! We ate like pigs! I love food around the Holidays! Yummy!

It has been a tradition for several years now that a Family picture be taken on the Christmas Couch! It has been some of my very favorite pictures of my little fam & the Brothersons. I LOVE it! Thanks for the memories, Christmas Couch!

They had tons of people over this year. We thought it would be WAY squishy but it was just perfect! It was really laid back and relaxing! The kids scattered all over the house- playing with toys & friends, games on the XBox, and playing the Piano while being accompanied by an ANGEL singing (aka Elder Krupa) LOL! The adults just enjoyed eating and eating and eating and visiting. What an awesome evening! Thanks KBro & Sean. We love you guys!

Chillin' with the Cooks
We LOVE being invited to the Cook's around Christmas! There's always vast amounts of delicious food and fabulous people to be with! Thanks for having us out guys! Merry Christmas!
Oh and it was "Chillin' with the Cooks" because most of the kids and the guys went out back to try out the Zipline in the snow! I didn't brave the many FEET of snow so I didn't get any pictures but they loved it! They came in soaked and frozen but who needs feeling in their limbs, right? Thanks for the fun memories!
Conference Breakfast @ the Ironroads
One of our Favorite traditions is when the Ironroads make us breakfast before the Saturday morning General Conference Session. It's always with our little adoptive family- Matt, Haylie & 1/2, Sean, Kristen, Ellen, Ethan, Mason, Bryn, London, Bronwyn, Gwen, Liberty, Justice, Victoria, Glory and me (& Brett when he's not away on a exotic vacation. LOL! Missed ya, Honey! ;). OK... so "little" might be an understatement. LOL! It's so fun and crazy and we love it! Matt is a fabulous cook and I always go away completely stuffed. So much that I have to remind myself to feed my children something later because I'm never hungry until late dinnertime. Thanks Matt! It was YUMMMY!
After breakfast, we always crowd into the living room to find a spot to watch Conference (at least see how much we can watch until the craziness takes over and we leave Matt & Haylie to their peace and quiet.;). This time, there was something wrong with the sound. We could hear all the Choir music but nothing when it came to the speakers. We finally turned it on to the American Sign Language link and the sound somehow worked. Along with it though, we had an extra little distraction. It was so hilarious to watch some of the Interpreters. They were very animated to say the least! LOL! The one in the picture below was our favorite. He was happy yet animated! He did a fabulous job. Unfortunately, there were others that made us giggle a bit. Too funny! A Conference Session to remember for sure!

Date Night Bowling
Date night is the BEST! Especially because of a hot hubby, babysitting group and great friends.
Since the Larsens were braving their first babysitting group at their place, we met the Tuckers & Brothersons at Johnny Carinos for dinner! Delicious! ...and I think the food looked great but I can't be sure. LOL! (They keep the lights so low that you need a flashlight to read the menu.) Maybe it is supposed to add to the ambiance of the evening. ;)

Then we headed to the Bowler for a little healthy competition! ;) So much fun! We should be paid- we're so good! OK- a little bit of a fallacy! But lots of fun! We all had Bowler names including Turkey, Niner, Foxx, Sexy Wild Cat, etc. The Ironroads met us there to kick our butts! (or NOT) Let's just say -we were all AWESOME!! LOL!
