Musical Talent

The kids had their end of the year Music Program this week. They did a terrific job! Thanks for letting us come see you guys. You were fabulous!
Justice's Class
Justice's favorite song was A Sailor Went to Sea. He got to be in a small group with the ribbon sticks for the song Weave Me the Sunshine and played an instrument for Ten Little Angels.
Liberty's Class
Liberty's favorite song was I'm a Believer from Shrek all decked out with actions that her class came up with. [Liberty and her friend are planning on doing this song with actions for the School's Talent Show at the end of the month] She got to be in small groups for the dances to the songs, Alabama Gal & Rocky Mountain High. And she played the bells for Oh Lord- an African folk song.
Way to go!!! We are very proud of you both!!!!

Bella & Ellie

When our sweet little Bella wants a story read, she finds her Ellie.
Too cute!!!

Birthday Princesses

Double Princess Partay!
What started out as a Surprise Party for Haylie turned into a Double Princess/ Kickoff to Summer BBQs. It was a lot of fun! I think we probably had about 60 people show up for the fun! Matt supplied the meat, Seamons did the buns and condiments, Brotherson did paper products & hosted (we all did cake!) and everyone else brought a side. YUMMMY! It's been really rainy this past week and today was no different. It didn't even stop one minute of the fun though. All the kids (Brett & Larry included) played outside anyways. [Don't worry-A wet rag and Brett's big feet took care of the mud after the Party. :)]

Haylie & I made each other's Bday cakes which were both delicious!
[Background info on the Princess cake: A week or so ago, Haylie & Matt were at the store and walked by the cakes. Haylie saw the lightup Princess cake (It's so cute, don't ya think?) but Matt wouldn't let her get it- SO MEAN MATT! even after she reminded him it was gonna be her birthday. LOL! Well, when we ended up combining the Partay, I told Brett to tell Matt that we'd be in charge of Haylie's cake. And you know--- it just had to be done. Yeah for Disney Princesses. We are also doing the Ironroad toy stash a favor. LOL It needed some girly stuff.]
We ate dinner, visited, watched the kids play, sang, had cake and opened a few presents from some of our thoughful friends. Thanks ladies. We sure love ya!
[One last background story: As you know, our Girlfriend Posse here LOVE the Twilight Series. It wasn't until after the second Movie Partay, that the girls became aware that I hadn't yet read them. That was a NO-NO. I was in BIG trouble!!! I told them I was holding out until I moved away and really missed them. That way I could read them and feel closer to them all. Well, obviously that wasn't good enough for Jen M. & KBro! LOL! They are bound and determined (or very stubborn:) that I WILL read them. Hence- the gift! Thanks ladies.] UPDATE: I read the first 2 books--all 1000 pages, I might add--in 3 days. Dang you ladies!!! Don't you think I have other things to do with my life??? AND I have brought the Forks weather here to Fargo. The constant rain, no sunshine, and moss covered trees. Thanks a lot!!!! LOL!
Thanks too to all the other sweet family & friends that remembered me today! I am a very lucky lady! Love you all!

P.S. We had fun spoiling Haylie for her Bday. We really know how to Celebrate Princess style! Love ya lady! (We had bought a couple long stem roses for Haylie that matched the roses on her balloon. Unfortunately, on the way to the Partay, Victoria threw a fit and sat on them; breaking them in half. Victoria felt really bad so she decided to buy Haylie some more. We made a quick trip to the store and found this little basket of flowers. The colors were close enough. LOL! Too funny! Best laid plans, right?)

Birthday Mommy

Happy Birthday to Me!
I live in a zoo, (it feels like that sometimes LOL)
I look like the Mommy
And most days, I smell like one too! (That's not always a good thing. LOL!)

My fabulous family let me sleep in today and brought me breakfast in bed. Yeah! I LOVE it!
For my present, I requested some money so that I can eventually get a nice digital camera. (EVERYHTING costs tons of money these days, doesn't it?) Of course, my wonderful hubby is always creative and thoughtful so I was sent on a MoneyHunt around the front room. All the kids helped hide all the 5s and 1s and were very helpful with their hot/cold game in the finding process. It was a lot of fun!!! They also got me some gorgeous roses and wrapped up my newest obsession- Mint Oreos AND some ingredients for more freezer meals! (so I would have presents to open- That's very important especially if you are 4. LOL!)
[SIDE STORY- Last week, Liberty told me that since she KNEW how much I LOVED making Freezer meals LOL! and I love fabric!!!... that she was thinking that they should get me all the things for one of my recipes and some fabric for my birthday! So sweet! She is always very thoughtful!]
Thanks fam for making my day so special! Sure love ya!
The afternoon, we got the opportunity to attend a couple Priesthood ordinations and a baptism of our friends, the Budges. Congrats guys!
AND....
Stay tuned for mine & Haylie's combined Princess Partay slash Opening Summer BBQ @ the Brothersons. It was tons of fun!

Swim Partay for Austin

Austin Weber turned SIX on Wednesday so we went over tonight to celebrate with him. He wanted friends and a swim party! Hurrah for us! It was so much fun. We visited, ate pizza, played, and went swimming. (We were going to walk over to the pool but a storm rolled in and dropped the temps by 15 degrees so the kids ran and we drove:) When we were done with that fun- we went back to the Webers for cupcakes and presents. The night went by way too fast. Thanks for inviting us guys! We sure luv ya!
Happy Birthday Austin!
We sure are going to miss you guys.

Temple Trip

Disclaimer: Haylie did such a great job of summarizing our trip- I am going to copycat most of her post! :)
It has been way too long since Haylie & I have been to the Temple. I've been kind of down spiritually lately and was dragging my feet on even going (making excuses of time and expense and blah and blah). Actually, I called Haylie last night to finally say I would pick her up in the morning. I am SOOO glad we went.
It was the fastest 3 hour trip to Bismarck we have experienced yet, although it might have to do with the fact that Jamestown somehow disappeared during this trip. I swear!!! Kinda scary but I seriously spaced half the trip! Haylie promised me she's gonna point out Jamestown the next time. I'm sure you're now all excited to hire me as a chauffeur. In my defense, it was rainy and cloudy and except for the ocassional "mountain" (ND rolling hills), it all looks the same. I do promise I was a safe driver- I just got lost in the company of a good friend. LOL!
When we got there we were 30 minutes early, a first for me, so we got to sit out in the front area and relax. It's always fun to see so many people you recognize in the Temple. (even when you don't make it as regularly as you should :) That's the wonderful thing about smaller Temples.
After the session, we sat in the Celestial room for quite some time discussing some of the things that caught our attention during the session. I like to concentrate on learning something new every time. This time, I could write a talk about what I learned!!! (and I just might! :) But the short and sweet of it is Daily Scripture study and how even the Creation of the world shows us how important it is and the steps we need to take to set up a regular study of God's Word. It also means--I have somethings to work on. :) That's nothing new though, right?
The Celestial Room was so beautiful and peacful and quiet. Not the "all the kids are now finally in bed and we tidied up a bit and watched a show and now I'm going to lay here in the quiet for 2 seconds before I fall asleep" kind of quiet BUT the kind that you can breathe in. I really needed some of that! We ended up being the last ones in the room and it was wonderful sitting there in the silence. I also got to show Haylie the Tissue box covers I made for the Bismarck Temple last year. It was fun to see them in the Celestial Room- they're even prettier than I remember them!
Remember how I said I had a bad mood about coming-- and how it was rainy on the trip out. Well...I definitely came out with a better attitude and low and behold- the sun came out as well. Too funny how God can tell you He's keeping an eye on you even with a simple little sunshine. I was very grateful!
We went to a late lunch at the Olive Garden.  We had a good time talking and eating delicious food. Then we headed for home. Another fast 3 hours, lots of giggles, running over a dead skunk and smelling it for the next 20 minutes resulting in a story about a bullet bike running over a cat, an interesting fact about the gigantic bison statue in Jamestown (don't ask!) and then we were home! We haven't talked or laughed that much in a long time. It's so great to have such fabulous friends to make special lasting memories with. Thanks lady for making the trip with me. Sure luv ya!
I sure LOVE the Temple and the opportunity I have to feel of God's love when I am there!

Justice's BDay Celebration

We started out the Birthday Boy's morning with the Bday hat, checking out the loot and opening one present. He opened one of his Webkinz. (The kids are obsessed with the Webkinz lately) Justice had a Boston-creme filled Toaster Strudel with Happy BDay written in frosting for his Breakfast of Champions! LOL! Then, he took M&M cookies & his Webkniz Gorilla to share with his school class.
Justice has been begging to get the firepit out so for his Bday celebration it was only appropriate to have a Firepit ParTay!! He requested hotdogs, puffy Cheetos, strawberries and S'mores. Yummy!
The other events of the evening included: Opening presents,
sharing a game of Trampoline Dodge ball with
our neighbor friend Andrew Ray,
singing Happy BDay with candles in cookies,
and of course Friday Night Movie Night with popcorn!
We sure love ya Justice! Hope you had a fabulous Birthday!
Thanks to everyone that remembered him on his special day!
