Preschool 2011-12

Glory started Preschool today! She was so excited! She wore her Dora backpack and took things to share with her buddies. We are doing a little Co-op Preschool with some friends. A little break for Mom and some learning time with friends. Perfect!
Good Luck kiddos!

Home Alone 4

The 3 older kids are all up and gone to school. Good luck guys!
But that leaves #4... HOME ALONE with Mom. It will be an adjustment for sure. Not that little Glory girl doesn't love her Mommy but she's never been Home Alone all day before. This morning was rough. LOL! Perhaps it' because she didn't get her morning "coffee" (a good dose of Dora). I decided to have her do a bit of a reading program video instead. You know, be the good Mom and give her a head start on her learning. ;) Believe me... I won't be making that mistake tomorrow! She was so crabby and thought she had to yell at me for everything. Whew! This little girl needs her morning fix! She did come and help me take something to the school for Justice but she had to make sure she took her Backpack along. She even informed me that she "has a teacher too". Her name is Mrs. Sully (Say "sool EEE" as Glory would say) and she teaches at Mrs. Sully's school. So... Mrs. Sully, if you are out there... Glory's ready!
Luckily, the afternoon wasn't as rough. We had a picnic lunch on our "School blanket" [Thanks Aunt Kathie], read books and took a nap. She helped me pick out the menu and took everything out. She can be a very sweet helper when she wants to be.
Hopefully, we figure out a routine and have some amazing Mommy/ Daughter time this year. I think we will as long as we make time for a big cup of Dora every morning! LOL!

IIIIIIIIIIIIII Looooooooooooove Yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooou, Glory girl!

While Dad's Away... the Girls will play!

There was an unexpected (sorta) trip to Utah made this week by part of our family. Our nephew, Zach is leaving on his mission soon and went through the Temple for his Endowment Friday. We are so proud of him!! Zach is such a good example to our family. We wish him the best of luck in his new adventure as he serves the Lord for the next 2 years in Mexico.
We've tried really hard whenever possible to support our family members as they make these important Eternal decisions. The "sorta" part of the trip is because normally we would just fly one of us out but cost-wise this time, it was more economical for Brett to drive out. The 3 oldest kids decided to go as well. I'll tell you about their trip soon but with that said... this post is about Glory & Mom's Week Long Date!!! We had so much fun!
Some of the fun we've been up to has included:
*Overnighting Mom's ring to UT cuz the diamond fell out
*Finishing the 4th Volume of the Blog Book- it's being printed as we speak type!
*A Pretend Birthday Party with Dora cupcakes and a new Tutu
*Easy Shopping Trips (oh my! One kid is a piece of cake!)
*Swimming at the Larsen Pool with the Adalaide and Garret
*Dinner & Dinos with Jen Neuteboom
*Playing at Gooseberry Park with our friends (Some are back from vacations- yeah!!)
*Making Strawberry Freezer Jam & eating lots of strawberries. Glory Loves strawberries!!!
*Playdate with Brotherson girls while Mom went Fabric Shopping
and joining Brotherson's for Gnomeo & Juliet Movie night
*Playing with Baby Alisa while her Mommy sewed beanie hats
and Mom mending the HUGE pile of clothes that has been long neglected.
*Playing with Carson Tucker & Copper while Mom had a Girl Date Night
*Vietnamese Dinner @ the Lessers and watching Toy Story 3 with Jessica
*Swimming at the Larsen Pool with the Adalaide and Garret AGAIN
*Singing and recording songs like the Harry Potter Puppet Show Song- Too funny!
*Cleaning out Closets- Forget about a clean house... I LOVE, LOVE a clean closet!
*Surviving a 4am Tropical Storm
*Lost & lots of Painting- Glory's outdoor art and Mom's Unfinished Projects--
finishing up the downstairs bathroom wall and refinishing the curb-side desk!
*Late Night Movies- Wowzers! Can anyone one say 2am everynight? Ooops!

Thanks little Glory girl for spending the week with me!
You are an awesome date!
IIIIIIIIIIIIII LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE YYYYYYYYYYYYOU!

Birthday Girl!

We had a really busy day today! Fortunately for us, one of the great things about little kids birthdays is... if you say it's a celebration- they believe you. LOL!
Since it was the last day of school, we had balloons and treats everywhere! We had a really healthy breakfast for our Bday girl. HaHa! She has been waiting FOREVER for it to be her birthday! She was so excited!
After breakfast, we let her open a few presents! She is so funny! Everything she opened, she would hug and say, "I luv it!"
Then once the kids were off to school, I had Visiting Teaching to do in Enderlin. But we just told Glory she got to go see her friends so she thought we were going out there for her. She loves the Friederich girls! Sister Boatman came and got us around 9am. She had even decorated the backseat of her car with a Bday banner and lots & lots of pink balloons. The girls could hardly even get buckled. Too cute! It's usually about a 40 minute ride from our house but since we went with Sister Boatman a different way than we're used to- it ended up taking us an hour and a half. We got a bit lost. Oops! Poor kiddies were so done with the car by the time we got there. They did enjoy their friends though. They could have stayed there all day! (I forgot to take pictures out there. oops! But thanks, Faith & girls for letting us come out)
After our short ride back LOL (at least it felt really short), we had a picnic lunch outside before nap.
Rested and ready for more fun, we had a few of Glory's favorite buddies & their families over for dinner. She loves, loves, loves Baby Soph, Carson McPherson, & the other Carson!!!!! (She also loves NayNay & Cooper but they couldn't make it) We had hotdogs, lots of yummy sides, played outside, sang Happy Birthday & had cupcakes and opened presents. She had a fantastic time. Thanks for celebrating Glory with us, guys!
One more special treat for her Birthday... Day took her on her own special Go-Kart ride.
We just love having Glory in our family. She is a cracker and always makes us laugh. She's got a great smile and the cutest voice ever! Happy Birthday Baby! (Oh, I forgot- she's always telling me "I NOT the baby- I Dory!"  LOL Also, she now thinks she's 4. Yesterday if you asked her how old she was, she'd have said "I two" but today she's now 4. I guess three isn't cool enough for her. Silly girl! Love ya!!!!!
Happy Birthday!

TWO Many Memories

My baby girl has had a fun and exciting year. Here are some memories from being TWO!

Glory's Blankie Surgery

Remember how Numm died last October? Well, now the top fabric of Glory's Blankie has seen it's last thread. Surgery was imminent! She handled it very well. She even helped. Thank goodness that the soft fabric is strong and still alive. This thing has been LOVED, for sure!

Playing with Oreo

Every week at piano lessons in Casselton, [when the Eriksons aren't there to play with] the little girls like to play with Beth's puppy, Oreo! I am not a dog person AT ALL! But he is pretty cute and the girls LOVE him!

GLORYious Photography

Many hours have gone into the collages of this post and just as many have gone into coming up with a title. Many have come to mind. Things like: "The Eyes of a Two year old" or "3 foot Perspective" or "A Thousand Pictures" or "Photography- Eye of the Beholder" or "Don't tell Dad I let you use my camera!" or "What does Glory see?" Well... you can make your own decision!
Gotta love a digital camera
& a two year old!
LOL!
She's an artist in the making!
P.S. In case you were wondering, Glory is NOT the only blossoming photographer in our family. Here's just a few of Victoria's works of art:
What can I say... We are one LUCKY, talented family! ;)

Rebecca's Valentine Party

Rebecca and Lisa had a fun Valentine Party today. The girls and I were lucky enough to be invited. We had a lovely time!
I was so proud of Lisa! She sent out cute invites, cleaned & decorated her home, planned food and fun games and even blew up Valentine balloons for the kids. Wahoo! Way to go lady! Look at you--You are an amazing Partay Planner!
Here we are decorating Valentine bags with stamps, markers and stickers:
Then everyone passed out the Valentine's they brought:
We played a "pin the heart on the bear" game. The kids were so cute! Some were too scared to wear the blindfold or get spinned. But I think everyone tried it! Some never even looked where their heart ended up at and others fixed it so it was in the right place. What characters! Then, Group shots with 3 year olds is always fun! But aren't they so darling?
Next, we had Valentine cookies & punch. Can you say pink, pink, pink?!!! My girls were in heaven! And yummy!
We totally enjoyed ourselves with some Valentine fun, playdough, visiting, toys, and dancing. We even stayed long enough for Lisa to feed us lunch. Thanks lady! We had a great time!
