Fargo Favorites # 45

1. Cornfields
As soon as you pass the city limits in any direction, you will find yourself surrounded by fields. Fields of wheat, beets, but mostly CORN. Cornfields as far as the eye can see. Rows and rows and rows and rows of them. They are so gorgeous and them make me hungry! Corn is my FAVORITE food!!!
2. The Lake
First, the facts: Minnesota is the "land of 10,000 lakes", but actually it has 11,842 lakes over 10 acres and 69,200 miles of rivers and streams. Even the name "Minnesota" comes from the Dakota Indian name "Minisota," which means sky-tinted water. Minnesota's surface area is 9% water (includes lakes, rivers and wetlands).
Next, the gratitude. I LOVE that the Fargo/Moorhead people refer to this phenomenon as "The Lake". Like it's all one big lake and we all go to the same place. I think it's cuz that's how we feel about each other. One big family all living in the same place. I love it!
3. Freeway Art
I know it's getting pretty popular everywhere these days but there is a stretch of I-94 that has big huge sound barrier walls right before and after the Red River. Instead of just slapping up big concrete dividers they have made them a work of art. Unfortunately I have googled and googled and have had no luck trying to find a good picture of them. Here's all that I have found- cuz believe me... taking a picture at 60 (I mean 55) MPH is not easy! LOL

4. Warm weather
I found this picture while I was looking for something else but I got a chuckle. It reads "Fargo*Moorhead Always Warm!" That IS hilarious! But it is true... for today so... I am thankful for that!

5. Summer flowers
You got Spring flowers and then you got Summer flowers. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE flowers??
So...What's your Name?
