Frosty the Killer!

Garden: Part 6

I came home from dropping the kids off at school this morning and looked at my garden. WHAT??? What happened to my pumpkin plants? They are totally dead!
..........Oh yes! I remember now. I see the dots connecting. I did scrap frost off my window last night! AND I did hear that the temps dipped to a nice 20 something last night. Dang! Frosty, you killer!! He also managed to turn all the corn stalks dark and half the peppers are nice and black. So sad!

There are a couple things that may have survived. Those close to the house or fences look ok. And of course our apples are all turning red. Grow, baby, grow! They may be the only thing we really get from our garden this year. Thank goodness we aren't farmers! LOL

The Season is coming to an end and many are pulling out their gardens but we are holding out hope. Come on little garden... Grow! Grow! Grow!

Green Thumb: Part 4

We have a very, very sad garden this year. It's really quite depressing! But it IS trying. Despite the drenched soil, our little plants DO want to produce. Good job little buddies! Keep trying!

Green Thumb: Part 3

Unfortunately our little garden is not doing the best but we grow nonetheless. So much for a "green thumb", right? We'll just have to make it to the Farmer's Market and pretend that we got some kind of harvest! LOL!
Here's the little bit of growth that has happened over the last month. Brace yourself- it's not much! ;)
P.S. Those apples are NOT ready- they are the ones we lost in one of our overnight hurricanes this month! Oops! So sad!

Green Thumb: Part 2

We've had lots and lots of water around here that has thwarted our garden's growth. Dang! But it's still growing... slowy but surely.

And as part of our harvest, (thanks to Justice & Dad for picking and cleaning and freezing them all for us) Glory and I made Strawberry Freezer Jam. Yummy! I love how pretty they look!

Green Thumb: Part 1

I have to admit I'm not too stoked about gardening this year. What is my problem?? Perhaps it's because the weather has been cold, wet and gloomy or I'm just whiny and have a bad attitude. Whatever the case may be, Brett & the kids have come to the "Green Thumb" Rescue. We have lots of fun things growing and I do love to see the growing progress so I will buck up and do what I do best... document!
I did however, buy flowers for the front flower bed. Granted--- I went to a Couponing Class and left the fam to plant them but I am taking a bit of credit as the supplier at least! So pretty! I love flowers! (One of these days I'm going to do a fancy ALL perennial garden so I can just sit back and watch it grow. Since I was a slacker, that'll happen another year I guess.)

Bloomin' Seamons: Extra Addition

Here's the last bit of treasure we found in our garden as we ripped it out for the year! The backyard looks so barren now. I can't believe I'm saying this but the snow needs to come to cover the evidence of Summer completely gone! LOL! (OK.... nevermind- I can deal with the barren wasteland a little longer- Stay away, Frosty!! We're not ready for you YET!!!)

Bloomin' Seamons: Goodbye Garden

Tomorrow is garbage day so we said goodbye to our garden. So sad! The kids were a great help.Justice cut the bottom of all the corn stalks. And Victoria pulled up all her carrots. She is so excited! Glory of course found the pinwheel and then she was distracted. Cute baby! Thanks, Love for all your patience ;) and hard work!

Bloomin' Seamons: The Harvest

I totally slacked on my Garden posts this year! Oops! Once we got back from our vacation, I just never got way excited to get a post up. Some things had died and other hadn't done very well. Good thing it's not our day job! LOL! We do LOVE the Harvest though. And despite not having a fabulous garden year, we have enjoyed lots of yummy stuff! And it looks like we should have lots of Butternut squash! I'm so exicted!

Bloomin' Seamons: Part Five

Here's a update of what's growing at the Seamons:

There's nothing out-of-control-growing yet but it's still fun to watch things get bigger especially when you look back at other pictures.

Every couple days, you can find Liberty harvesting her radishes. I LOVE it! They are way too spicy for me but she eats them like candy!

The peas are not overwhelming like we would choose them to be but the kids are out there everyday seeing if they can find some. They always make sure they bring me ONE. ;)

We've had a few raspberries, and a couple tomatoes.

Justice's corn is growing the best out of all the corn we planted. He must have a special touch, LOL!

Other than that we are just enjoying the greenery for now. I always think it's gorgeous!

Yeah for the garden!
