Top O' the Morning to ya!

No, we are NOT Irish but St Paddy's is a big deal round here (at least for me & the kids)! so- Happy Shamrock Day everyone! Most people including my hubby (and I'm working on making it his favorite holiday LOL!) give me a hard time for celebrating this holiday. I just don't understand. I mean, really... if you're the kind of person that doesn't enjoy rainbows or a little LUCK or a lot of Gold then you're right- you should just skip the Holiday cuz- if those things don't interest you- you wouldn't like it anyways! LOL! BUT the kids and I REALLY like those things so we go all out!
We started the morning out just a little green :)- The kids were all so excited to get decked out in their StPaddy attire. We even made sure that last night we had green on our pjs or at least our underwear LOL! so that nobody got pinched in the mornin'. You gotta be prepared, people! We ate green eggs and ham (bacon) with green milk on green plates and even green cups! Green's the theme! :)
During the day while Liberty and Justice were at school- the girls and I, of course, took Shamrock cookies to playgroup to share. Also, I finished up a few holiday crafts for around the house. a few magnets, a shamrock block for the kitchen and a new set of stackers. So cute!!!! Have I mentioned that I LOVE decorating for the holidays?!
The LUCKY Partay just continued into the evening. Fancy holiday plates, green milk, glowing (really glowing :) green eggs, 4-leaf clover hunting in the pile of pancakes, making rainbows out of fruit and dipping them in whoop cream clouds- you name it we had it! We watched a movie and ended the night with frosted cookies with holiday sprinkles and a phone chat with Dad. What a perfect day!
AND the Holiday is never complete without the GOLD at the end of the Rainbow, right? Every year, at the beginning of March, we create a rainbow on our kitchen cupboard and place a BIG black pot at it's end. As the month progresses, we fill the pot with what we consider our GOLD. Who says you need to catch a leprechaun to get the pot of gold? LOL! It is so fun to see each day what the kids write on the gold coins. Things like Jesus, family, friends, agua, warm sunshine, food, each other, etc- always make it in the pot! Sometimes it's just the really simple things and sometimes the gold is a little more profound but let me tell you...by March 17th ...We are very RICH!!!
On this lucky little holiday, we hope that you recognize just how RICH you are as well!
Happy St. Patrick's Everyone!
