FHE @ Buffalo River

Tonight, we got together a FHE with some of our Ward family out at Buffalo River State Park. The forecast looked a bit questionable and the morning was rainy but we couldn't have asked for a better August night. It felt like it was in the 80s and there was just enough of a breeze to keep the bugs away. (Att least until we were loading the cars. I think Glory got 20 in the about 5 minutes!)
The kids and I love going out with all the ladies and the kids during the Summer but there's always something special in having the Dads come out to play. The kids and the Dads had a blast playing and swimming in the lake while the Moms and the babies visited. Ellen was even in town for the week on her school break and joined us! Yeah!

After tons of swimming and visiting, Ryan made us a fire and we all roasted hot dogs and ate dinner together. And when there's a fire- you have to do Sh'mores!!! (Right, Bryn??) Yummy!

What a fantastic FHE! Thanks to the Tuckers, Bradys, Ericksons, Brothersons and Larsens for joining us. We luv you guys!

Buffalo River

The weather has not really cooperated with us this Summer to make trips to Buffalo River be consistent. In fact, today was the 1st time we've made it this year. Man! Have we missed it! It was a perfect day for being at the Lake! We love meeting out there with friends. We'll have to see if we can make it there a few more times before school starts.

Buffalo River 2010

I mentioned that this Summer has been perfect to be outside., right? Well, we took advantage and spent every Friday we could at Buffalo River. Totally got our money's worth with our year pass! Thanks to all our friends that spent their Friday mornings with us. (especially our die-hards, the Tuckers!) We'll always have such fond memories of our time at the lake.

FHE Buffalo Style

We spent our FHE outdoors tonight and with our extended Ward Family. [The Seamons, Tuckers, Brothersons, Swansons, Dishers, Hoffmans, and Mausolfs] We headed out to Buffalo River State Park for a little swimming and a Roasting Partay. It was a lot of fun!
We enjoyed ourselves at the lake with activities such as swimming, floating, football, building sand castles, getting in a sand fight, running around the lake during the "10 minute lifeguard break", Ring-around-the-rosies, frisbee, and hanging out on the beach.

For dinner, we started up a magnificent fire. Thanks, Honey & kids!!! We roasted hotdogs and brats and everyone brought a side to share. Yummy! And for dessert, we of course had Sh'mores! Double yummy! We even brought the Gigantic marshmellows! Triple yummy! Better yet- no one got burnt! Amazing considering how many little bare feet we had running around the fire. LOL!

(Well except for--- Unfortunately, the Brothersons only made it to their neighborhood before their big Green Beast DIED! May it R.I.P.-;( Sorry guys!)

Buffalo River

Last year, we made it ONCE to Buffalo River State Park. This year, we hope to change that AND so far the weather looks like it will be helpful. It was an absolutely beautiful day to be at the beach. Lots of friends, hot sun, warm water, food and fun---Doesn't get better than this!
